If I Won the Lottery..
Just about everyone knows that the jackpot for the lottery was massive this past Friday. I saw Katie post what she would do if she won the lottery. I thought it was a fun idea, so I decided to play along too!
Side note: I've never played the lottery. Not because of beliefs or anything, I just didn't grow up with a family that played, so I've never bought a ticket. Besides, I definitely need someone to go in there with me so I don't look like a total idiot when I actually DO play. I will eventually, it's on my bucket list!
In no particular order..

* Go on a massive shopping spree - clothes, bags, jewelry, shoes, makeup..
* Hire a personal trainer so I can look like this:
* Hire a personal chef so I don't have to cook if I don't want to
* Invest
* Help raise money for local charities (and give)
* Start a college fund for my future kids

Needless to say, I've been extremely tired from stress (learning as I go, a completely new job that I was trained on superfast, and doing my old one).

The Friday of my co-workers last day, we shut the office down early and went out for drinks. I couldn't go all out because I was driving 3.5 hours to go see S.
Prior to even finding out about the job, S and I had a fight. Essentially he was stressed out over money and job stuff, but Ihad to punch him in the throat had to ask him for a week what was wrong. I could tell he was acting different and I didn't know what to do because I didn't know what the problem was. I thought maybe it was me. Did he not like me anymore? Did he find someone else he liked better? All kinds of questions ran through my head, making me doubt our relationship. When he finally decided to tell me what was bothering him, I ended up getting pissed.
Communication is huge in a relationship. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't have communication, trust and love, you have nothing. I've been in two very long relationships where there was poor communication and I absolutely refuse to do that again. I summed it up for S and told him that if he couldn't communicate with me, we didn't need to be together.
Since that fight, I felt like things hadn't really been the same between us. I had actually told him that I didn't want to come up (the weekend of my co-worker's last day) because he was supposed to have friends in town and I thought he and I needed one-on-one time. I suggested going up the weekend before his friends would be there. We talked and he wanted me to still come that weekend. So after the going away drinks, I went to see him. I was absolutely exhausted when I got there. We had a nice weekend, but I would have honestly much rather been at home relaxing because I was working to the max all that week trying to train. I don't let a lot of things interfere with my sleep, and I hadn't gotten much of it because I knew I had to get what I was going to be doing.
We have definitely been fighting more. Distance is hard. Added stress of a job, and an hour time difference does not help any. Plus if you factor in I've been exhausted and wanted to do nothing but sleep..well that leaves little time for him.
I'm not sure where exactly this puts us in our relationship. Every thing happens for a reason and I truly believe that. Even if you don't know that reason at the time. All I know to do is to pray about everything and know that in time, the Plan will be revealed...

Lots of new things have been going on with me. I'm sure some of you noticed that I hadn't posted in a while.
About 2 weeks ago my co-worker, who was the Office Manager, that had been here 9 years, put in her notice. Her notice that she was going to work a week and a half and she was taking another job. After that, everything kind of came crashing down.
One of my bosses approached me and asked me if I knew how to deposit checks (something that he knew I didn't know how to do - it wasn't part of my job). The co-worker that was giving her notice was in with the other boss with the door shut when I got into the office. I caught on quick and asked the other boss why he was asking me. He pulled me into his office and told me that she had give her week and a half notice. I was shocked. After all, the company has been around 10 years, and she's been with them for 9. We quickly brain stormed as to what she knew how to do.. She was our IT person (to an extent), Office Manager, A/R and A/P person, etc. Basically, she ran this mother.
All the events are running together and I can't remember if this is correct, but I believe that my boss basically asked me right there if I wanted the position. Of course I was given time to think about it, but that was a major curve ball. I had actually been planning to start looking for jobs in Nashville, to be with S. I had some decisions to make, and I needed to make them fast. I prayed about it a lot (in the little time I had) and I ultimately decided to take it. After all, I love the firm I work for and get along with everyone (for the most part..everyone has those days). I decided that it was a huge stepping stone for me and my future.
Training me on how to do her many jobs started immediately. Even if I decided I wasn't going to take the position, they still needed someone to be able to make the office run until they found a replacement. I stayed one night until 10:30 with her, and the next till 9:30, and then on her last day, I came in 45 minutes early. Luckily she created a manual for me to follow with directions on how to run things.
My first day was last Monday. I was determined to make it all run smoothly. Towards the end of the day, I started getting frustrated and ended up getting teary because I just wasn't getting something. I'm sure you've been there at one point. My boss was very understanding and told me he didn't want me coming in all stressed out and that I wasn't going to "get it" in one day. I knew that of course, but I was SO determined...
It's definitely not been a piece of cake. I'm doing two jobs until they find a replacement for my old job. They interviewed a few people, but one of the girls we all really liked took another job (before we could even offer it to her!).

Hair
After seeing this post on the clipless curling iron, I decided I needed to try it out. I drove to my near by Ulta and searched for clipless irons that were thick, because the thicker the barrel, the better. TWSS!
This is how Julia's hair turned out using the Jose Eber 25mm clipless iron..
I didn't really want to blow $150 on a curling iron, so I settled for the Sedu Revolution 1". This is how my hair turned out..

Just somewhat wavy. I used the iron the way Julia did in the video, which could have been a mistake for a first time user? I should have possibly used the little glove that came with the iron. In any case, I wasn't to thrilled with the results. Maybe its because I have some short layers? I didn't dig the small layer ends sticking out all over the place. Plus lets be honest, my hair looks nothing like hers.
The next day I decided to use my trusty Conair 1".
Much better, no? What are your thoughts? What type of curling iron do you use?

You see how picky I am about my shoes and they only go on my feet.
If you don't know what movie that's from, I'm not sure we can be friends.
So lets talk about shoes! Specifically, cheap shoes! I know you all love Target as much as I do. It seems like I am always searching for cheap black patent shoes for work. They carried these last year and I bought them in black. They are SO comfortable. I was so happy to see that they had them back in stock this year! They are called Pearce and they have: black, red, beige, beach, and navy! Shoes are what, anywhere from $40+? I figure at $30 each, you can't beat that! I seriously wear one pair a day, mostly beige or black.
